Susan, it is good if you know your goals for the whole year (and your North Star) but the detailed planning for now is for the first quarter. In three months' time so much can have changed that it does not make sense to flash it out in detail now.
And making new plans every couple of months gives you a chance to look back, look forwards and adjust…[Read more]

I need some clarification. I am a first time Starship captain and just finished working through the 1st map making assignment. My goal is to plan the 1st three months but should I be planning the whole year at this point? Thanks.

Oh yes @leigh-kristensen I feel that too! A whole year, a lot can change so I just keep with smaller goals. 1-3 months is fine for now. Maybe the rest will get clearer as the year continues.

My North Star for this year is fun. The last couple of years have been so consumed by worries about employment, health, and money. I find myself realising that I ‘had' fun, rather than knowing that I'm ‘having' fun. I have monetary goals for my business, but I want that to be the result of fun projects.

Oh, I love semantics.

Satisfied, and content are really similar. I would tend to say I was satisfied as a result of having done something. So I would be satisfied after a lovely dinner, or achieving all my quarterly goals. Content would be more of an holistic feeling.

@tawny-reynolds specially the last one on your list sounds like a really good one! Being content with what we do instead of beating ourselves up for what we didn't do yet…

I've got to get my North Stars condensed… I have multiple and I think I can cluster them to get the BIG Northstars. (Fun, Joy, Happiness) (Organised, Structured) (Light, Satisfied) I love Content as well, as a non-native English speaker is there a difference between the two? I was thinking of the Dutch word and both are matching for that.

@tawny-reynolds I keep coming up with Content as one of mine too for very similar reasons. Good for you!

Anyone have another word for agency-Like the freedom to chose. And acting independently of circumstances?

What else whould I be doing to get to this goal?

I have many smaller goals to accomplish in this time period but ths is the big one.
Should I be listing all of the smaller goals as well?
