Yes. Always post links. I put things in my newsletter (next one comes out 2/23!) and sometimes will spontaneously say something on social media. This is the first place I look, although I try to grab them from this thread if I see them.
@tanja-osswald, I seem to be pretty excited about everything (almost) that I'm doing. That certainly helps.…[Read more]

@carolien-muller-genger, yay for having done two thirds of your dye project! No idea about etsy sales but my Ravelry sales fluctuate a lot. Sometimes, I can even see the influence of the weather (a snowstorm in the US is always bad for pattern sales).
@jill-wolcott, looks like you are on a roll. You get done so much and all is purposeful and…[Read more]

I'm coming to Edinburgh with a chum, so it would be nice to be able to meet somewhere central. 7.30 pm sounds good.

@carolien-muller-genger It's totally okay that you don't have Etsy orders. I often have a week without orders (and worry about it). It's usually when I've not updated or communicated.

What's going well?
I've cleared out my fabric stash. All the useable remnants are now bags, and in the shop. All the scraps were packed up and taken to the local sewing workshop, where people got excited about things that had become mundane to me. I'm having a sale for my newsletter subscribers to clear the decks for new and exciting things. -

I am chewing on the idea of how it will effect my fibre biz, that's a good thought and the more I think it, the more I feel like I need to keep thinking it.
I am a huge big picture, head first, commit to the biggest possible thing type of person. That worked really well for my fiber biz but I think now that I already have a biz and a baby and a…[Read more]

Whatcha Working On?
I have been really plugging away. I got the email out to my newsletter readers for Swatch-uCation. I’ve gotten signups! Opens generally on Friday.
What’s Going Well?
I used Tara’s copywriting sheet to help me write the sales page for Swatch-uCation. Then I cut it in half. I used the text of th…[Read more]

Tnx @penny-shima-glanz 🙂 Yes I read a lot but after a burn out years ago I was kinda done with reading. I had to read the same page at least 10 times to get it… speed and concentration are picking up again 😀
hahaha I saw some favorites on Etsy there 😉 Thank you! Miscalculations on taxes aaargh! I can imagine the stress there.
I ship from…[Read more]

thank you Carolien! I hope she can as well. Her health is fragile in general, so I'm thankful it's only the elbow (that I know about).
Congrats on reading again! I can't imagine life without my nose in a book (or ten). 🙂
It's completely ok that you haven't had a sale. I know a few items that I like! However for me, there's a purchase hold on…[Read more]

What's going well?
Already dyed 20 skeins of the 30 skein collection I want to finish this week.
Also finished reading my second book of the year, I picked up reading as a habit again and I'm amazed I'm actually keeping up with the goal of 1 book per month after years of no reading or only 1 book a year…What am I working on:
The birthday cake…[Read more] -
tara replied to the topic Help with TNNA Booth Idea in the forum Engineering 8 years, 4 months ago
I'm just going to chime in to back-up what Lea-Ann and Jill were saying – TNNA (the show) is for shop owners. They're the ones that pay the most and are the most motivated, so TNNA is always going to serve them first (and then vendors who sell to yarn shops). Your customers are designers, who go to TNNA to get their own work, not find service…[Read more]

It is probably crazy to start a nursing bra line, but if you're really into it, DO IT! Like Jess said, research (and do a loooot of market research before you invest in anything like a million bolts of fabric or a new machine or anything) but otherwise, why not go for it?
I'm actually less worried about how it (either biz) affects your fiber…[Read more]

what's going well & whatcha' workin' on?
This is a better week. Thanks to copious mugs of tea, I'm finally feeling that I'm catching up. The cats are being super helpful, which is a challenge in and of itself as some of the work I have to finish are swatches!what's being stubborn?

I got my early opening email out to my newsletter readers for this. I got 4 signups and my web traffic has been huge! I'm very happy and will continue to market it–and be asking you to boost it. But it doesn't go public until Friday. I'll post in the proper thread to get shares.
