@leigh-kristensen @tanja-osswald Tnx! In the end I got 3 orders last Saturday, so week saved 😉 Weird how that goes and how it sometimes matches with weather?! I got another order last night and tonight will be my big shop update with my special Birthday Cake Collection so I hope this week will be double of last week 😀

I love this idea. I need to make it a habit to check here for stuff to share especially evergreen stuff because I'm going to start using buffer to help with FB.

Pinterest: Getting More Out of It
Pinterest has been on my list for, we'll say forever. I want to get more traction there, but I don't really use it myself, so without spending a bunch of time on figuring it out, nothing happens. I post my blog to it, and would like to figure out how to get my Instagram photos there, but this morning I was…[Read more] -

Thanks @april-ridgeway for getting back to me! (And to @Joeli-kelly for the earburn 🙂 ).
I've had a look at your website and it looks good. I'll send you an email so we can have a chat about it.

@jennie-powell @leigh-kristensen
We're not necessarily in central Edinburgh, but a short bus ride (maybe 15 minutes from North Bridge depending on traffic), we're on the 3, 8, or 29 bus routes (the stop is just outside our neighbourhood – a 1-2 minute walk to our flat). Or I'm happy to try to find a restaurant more central to city centre.…[Read more] -

@jill-wolcott Thank you! The booth issue was exactly what I was trying to figure out. I know when I manned a booth at Stitches, there was no time for me to visit someone else's.

Hi Captains! I have just opened a 4-week sampler course on Swatching for registration (until February 26). It runs from February 27 to March 24. I'd love to fill the remaining spots. This is a beta version, so the price isn't likely to ever be this low again. Here's a blog post with additional information.
It is suitable for designers or knitters!

@april-ridgeway, Of course you should use TNNA and Industry Showcase, and other methods to get the customers you want. I just think a booth isn't going to do it.
Personally, I think put together a nice short, comprehensive brochure, and get it out to all the Yarn Suppliers you are interested in. Do it before TNNA, but offer to meet with them…[Read more]

Whatcha workin on?
I can finally feel myself coming out of a 4-month slump! It's slow progress moving forward, but I have a new design I'm ready to submit to my tech editor and the beginnings of a few shawl design ideas. What’s going well?

@tara, you bring up a good point, and maybe I've been conflating two audiences that I shouldn't be. I've been struggling with the fact that while I enjoy and am good at technical editing, right now I balance two careers, and I have limited time to commit to clients. However, because taking on clients is what pays the bills, I accept incoming tech…[Read more]

Oh, thanks for the earburn @joeli-kelly! I hadn't been following this thread!
Hi @rachel-brooks! I might be able to help you out, if you'd like to chat. I actually offer all of the services you talk about: I design pattern layout templates, I tech and copy edit, and I do have a few clients I work with who have me take a rough draft (which…[Read more]

a snowstorm in the US is always bad for pattern sales
LOL – I would think it would be the opposite. Unless they're all too busy shoveling to shop for patterns and knit 🙂
